Hey Everyone!

I'm currently lying in bed right now.  I can't fall asleep.   Somehow I have not grown out of the almost unbearable anticipation of Christmas Eve when you're a kid.  It's a mixture of wanting to fall asleep so badly because morning = presents, and valiantly keeping your eyes glued open and your ears perked in hopes of hearing Santa. My mom claimed every year she heard Santa on her roof we she was little.  Oh boy, that statement alone was cause for countless late night Christmas Eve's because I did not want to miss out on hearing Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, etc on my roof.  Well anyways, here I am, not able to fall asleep on Christmas Eve, so I thought I would spread some Christmas cheer and wish all of you (which in actuality is probably just Mash) a very merry Christmas.  And show you a picture of Christmas gnomes because everyone can use more gnomes in their life.

Merry Christmas!

Ways to Waste Your Time on the Internet

The other day Fannie was complaining to me that she was tired from staying up too late the night before. When I asked her what she was doing she told me she was on the Internet for a few hours. Having a mindless job where I have a lot of time to kill and computer access, I asked her to share some of her favorite time wasters with me. I thoroughly enjoyed all of the ones she sent me so I thought why not help others make it through their work day. Here they are enjoy!

"Homework"

Nothing gets done at the library except for the slow chipping away of our sanity and the occasional social encounter of a fellow inhabitant of Greek Row pretending to study.

And yes, this is what we look like when we go into public.

A picture is worth a thousand words... Enough said.

Thanks All Around

"Let us rise up and be thankful, for if we didn't learn a lot today, at least we learned a little, and if we didn't learn a little, at least we didn't get sick, and if we got sick, at least we didn't die; so, let us all be thankful." -Buddha

Happy Thanksgiving, from Mammy & Fannie.

Formally Over

Last night was DG Fall Formal and it was the last event I plan for my position in DG.  It was easily the most fun dance so far in college.  Everything went off without a hitch- great food (and we didn't run out!), great venue, great dj, and great dates!  All in all a great night!

Craftiness

We'll I've accepted it: Masha and I are never going to get around to blogging together. There, I said it. Masha, I think it's about time you accept it too. So I'm going to fly solo on this entry. Here it goes:

Mammy & Fannie have delved into a whole new world called Crafts. All of a sudden we are so crafty! It all started with friendship bracelets. We thought how hard could it really be, I mean eight year olds make them. And if they can make them, so can we! Turns out eight year olds are way more talented than we originally thought.

So friendship bracelets were a bit of a bust but we were not discouraged! Thread just isn't our medium, that's all. Turns out making magnets is so much easier. With the help of our friend Abby, also known as Kibbles 'n' Bits, we made the coolest magnets you've ever seen:

We used pictures of Christian Bale, Gob and Buster Bluthe, TJ Schiller, and Tom Brady among others. Hot Heads are the only magnets worth having.

Still on our craft buzz, Masha and I discovered our true calling in life: paint splattering.

I needed some artwork for my room so we went to Roberts, picked up some canvases and paint and tried this awesome experiment. If you ask me I think it was a total success. These were so much fun to make that Mammy and I actually had another helping of paint splattering and made some artwork for Masha's bedroom too.

Mammy & Fannie shall not stop on our artistic streak here though by any means. Just wait for our fabulous rendition of "A Minor Incident" by Badly Drawn boy.

So I always said I would update our blog a lot more when it was summer and I didn't have school. However, steph and I have been pretty pathetic at updating this blog. Our man of the month has turned into man of three months and has managed to get himself arrested for verbal abuse (What on earth do you say to someone to get arrested for verbal abuse?!), but its ok we still love him. Our song of the week has become the song of the month. It is very fitting that it is Tegan and Sara because we have been listening to them tons this summer. We will soon be updating all these hopefully, and adding more pictures!

p.s. this post is mostly to Fannie because I don't think anyone else reads this blog. Aren't you so proud of me I finally remembered all our log in crap!

Golden

June 19th was my GOLDEN BIRTHDAY. I turned 19 on the 19th and let me tell you, it was awesome.  Masha and Annie helped my celebrate by boating the day away at East Canyon.  Oh and of course Louie helped too.

Notice the fantastic gold swimsuit Brecken and Annie got me as a present.  How cool is that?!

To me, this photo represents Mammy's and my friendship.  I enjoy it.

Wakesurfing in sunglasses and loving it.

Mammy.
Annie, touching her elbow.
Fannie, trying.
FINALLY! Louie sitting on Annie's lap.  Such joy she's never imagined.

Windswept Louie.

All in all, 19 was an amazing birthday and I couldn't have asked for a more golden day!

Postpartum Rec Soccer League

So my sister Elena is on a soccer team and needed some more players so Fannie and I decided to join the ranks of Wizard (Note not Wizards, see Juno) soccer team. The next youngest player was about 27 but our youth gave us no real advantage. We just finished the spring season and ended up taking second place overall which was not bad. Our last game was against the first place team in our league. It was a rough game especially since we had no subs or water! We did however have some pretty awesome fans.
The game got pretty physical. We were down 2-1 with minutes left and Fannie had the most amazing goal of the season. However due to referees that don't know the rules of soccer it was taken away and we lost the game. In our hearts it was a tie.
Proof of Steph's goal:
But just wait for next season- Number One here we come!

Spontaneity

Summer.  It's here and so far there isn't much that can be said about it.  This is mostly because it's been around 68 degrees everyday.  And it's June. C'mon.

So last Saturday Brecken, Annie, and I (minus Masha because she was in Bear Lake.  Definitely not the same without her!), well we decided to switch things up and go on an adventure.  It all started at Subway when we were eating lunch-  Annie volunteered an idea to go to the "art festival" that was supposedly going on that day.  Sounds like a good idea, Brecken and I said.  Turns out it was no art festival.

It was definitely the Gay Pride Festival.  Luckily we found that out before we went downtown or else we really would have been surprised.

So instead of going down to Gay Pride Day or whatever it was, we decided to go up to Park City and ride the Alpine Coaster.  Soooo much fun.

It was great to actually get out and do something fun!  It's been way too long.  Oh and did I mention that we got to go on it TWICE for the price of one ride? Yeah, that's right, twice.

Afterwards we went and got sushi on Main Street.  And then FUDGE.  Don't listen to Annie and Brecken- dessert wasn't all my idea.
All in all it was a great night and I enjoyed every minute of it.  Let's keep Summer '08 interesting and have more fun night like it!

One Week, Two Concerts

So there were two way tight concerts this week. First off Masha and I went and saw Mason Jennings. Neither of us knew what he looked like so we were pleasantly surprised when he came on stage. I was expecting him to be bald... He wasn't.

After the concert I came home and immediately bought his new cd that had just been released the previous day, "In the Ever." Totally recommend it.

Then today Andrea and I went and saw Death Cab for Cutie and Tegan and Sara at Thanksgiving Point. Tegan and Sara were awesome.

Then came Death Cab. From the SECOND ROW! It was the closest Mama Drea and I had ever been at a concert that big and we were super stoked. The only drawback was that we were right in front of the speakers. My ears are still ringing. Although I don't love their new album, their old stuff was amazing.

"I Will Follow You Into the Dark"

Dinner! Funnel Cake!

What Keeps Me From Getting Anything Done

So ever since starting this blog I have yet to stop looking at everyone else's.  Who knows how I get to these blogs but here are two that are totally awesome:

The Pioneer Woman

Dooce is straight out of Salt Lake City (represent!) and is my blogging idol.  I just found Pioneer Woman today but the story of how she met her husband kept me reading for hours.  Pretty much that's what I did all day... And scored a goal at our soccer game! Go Wizard!

Our Bombin' Weekend

This weekend we took an adventure up to Brecken's cabin with Annie and Brecken.  (Annie, here is your debut on our blog!) After Domino's fell through- turns out they close at ten on Friday nights... lying whores- we decided to go to Sonic.
Pretty much the only good parts of our kids meals were the spy gear toys.  Soggy grilled cheese and tater tots- they even somehow managed to mess up grilled cheese.  What a dinner.
Back to B-reck's cabin where we ate lots of candy and watched Laguna Beach- TWO WHOLE DISCS!  Sugar buzzed and wide awake we played some intense pool games....
while Brecken slept on the couch.
Annie, fancying herself as quite the prankster, was sick of Brecken sleeping so she decided to test the old method of putting someone's hand in warm water to make them pee their pants...  It did not work.  But it was worth a try.

All in all a fun break from finals

Picking Classes

Picking classes is seriously one of the most overwhelming things ever for me.  I start by simply browsing over generals and then suddenly before I know it I'm terrified to click the "add" button on a class because I'm afraid that this particular class in this particular major will prevent me from getting a successful job and then I will fail at life and end up never moving out of my parents' house.

But then I get a little comfort in the fact that I am not alone.  I just finished Anna Karenina (finally!)  and this little passage tells everything I'm feeling way more eloquently than I can express it:

"Oh, what a wonderful age you are," Anna went on.  "I remember very well that sort of blue mist, like the mist on the Swiss mountains.  That mist that envelops everything in the blissful time when childhood is just coming to an end, and out of the vast circle, happy and gay, a path takes shape that keeps getting narrower and narrower, and you go on to this lane gaily and fearfully, even though it looks right and lovely... Who hasn't passed through that?"

But then again should I really be taking advice from a woman who threw herself under a train?  Whatever, I'll just pick easy "grade-boosting" generals and figure I'll get my life together next semester.

Picking Classes

Ok so something weird is going on with this whole underlining thing.  Let me just start over and make a new post.

Finals!!!!!!!!

So Steph has been trying to get me to blog for eons and now that I should be studying I have to decided to write on our blog. It is amazing how fast a day goes by and how many things come up when you plan to study all day. Today for instance I was planning on studying all day for the final I have on friday however I don't know where the day has gone and I have only studied for two hours! Some of the day was spent watching the new episode of Gossip Girl at Fannie's house. They seemed to be really trying to pack as much drama as they could in one episode to make up for all the time they lost during the writers strike. Also everyone came back to the show with new haircuts. Little J got a new hair cut and looks less unfortunate however still she is just as retarded if not more than before!

Back to pretending to study!

Look!

Ok, I just have to document this.  Masha came into my room today (at my family's house) and she was shocked because my room is so clean.  It is probably the cleanest it's been in over 6 months.  Even Mammy commented on how long it's been since she's seen my floor.  And it's true- my room is never clean.  This is mostly because I'm lazy and never put stuff away but still I can always find things when it's messy.  It's almost an organized mess.  Well I take that back, I can never find a complete pair of shoes.  But anyways, it's my Mom's birthday tomorrow and I'm hoping that this clean room can count for her present because the other present she asked for is a food processor and I have no idea where to get one of those.

All I can say is it's amazing what I do to avoid studying for finals!
